An Extended Validation (EV) Certificate from provides customers more confidence that they are interacting with a trusted web site and their information is secure.
The Green Address Bar
An EV Certificate triggers high-security web browsers to display your organization's name in a green address bar, and to show the name of the Certificate Authority that issued it.

The green address bar appears when customers/members click on your URL. They will soon recognize it as an easy and reliable way to verify site identity and security, giving them more confidence to conduct business on your site, whether they're making a transaction or simply gathering information.
Increased Trust and Conversions
Visitors to your website are more likely to convert to customers if they trust in your brand. Displaying a green address bar allows you to stand out and prove to your customers you take security seriously. Including your company name in the address bar increases trust in your brand and helps convert that visitor to a customer.
Validation Requirements
Extended Validation SSL certificates require a full validation of the company and domain. Essentially the Certificate Authority must be able to verify the following.
- The company is registered with the relevant government authority
- The domain is registered in the name of the company
- The person applying for the certificate is a full time employee of the company
- Locate a publicly listed phone number for the company to complete a verification call
